Welcome to the Brander Vineyard - one of the original vineyards in Santa Ynez Valley and the producer of world-class Sauvignon Blanc wines in a variety of styles, as well as small quantities of hand-crafted Bordeaux-style red wines. Please visit Our Wines to read more about the Brander Vineyard wines.

The Tasting Room at the Brander Vineyard is open for tasting and sales seven days a week. Tours can be arranged for small groups by appointment and guests are welcome to enjoy the picnic grounds. Visit the Tasting Room section for opening hours and directions; and the Wine Country section for suggestions on places to stay and dine, as well as things to see in the area.

The Sauvignon Blancs have had more than their 15 minutes of fame in the wine press – beginning with the heralded first gold medal ever awarded to a Santa Barbara County wine in 1978. The new millennium has brought accolades such as Wine Spectator’s Wine of the Week and “Smart Buy”, Wine Enthusiast Editors Choice, scores in the 90’s from many prestigious wine critics, and even a “best value” from the renowned New York Times. Visit the Wine Press for more press clippings.

With all of the reviews, the Sauvignon Blancs tend to sell out faster than we can bottle them! And so, with the 2004 vintage for the very first time at Brander, we used a mobile bottling truck that came to our winery. We also began to introduce screwtop finishes to some of our Sauvignon blancs that are best enjoyed in their youth. With wine, bottles, corks, screwtops, capsules and labels at the ready, we hooked up to the bottling line. The glass and wine goes in one side, and the finished product appears on the other. Not quite magic, but certainly impressive and satisfying. And allows us to bottle a higher quantity per day, and so better keep up with market demand. . Bob Dickey took some photographs of the occasion - please visit ofoto to view them.
